There are about 60000 plugins available that you can use. But getting the right and essential ones is a tough job. Despite installing the right one you may be ended up installing a bunch of plugins. And since you are using too many of them it can slow down your site.
I have been working with WordPress since 2015, in those five years, I have worked on hundreds of project related to WordPress. And have created and optimized 100+ WordPress.
And in every project, the first thing I do after WordPress installation is installing the plugins. And there are some plugins that are my absolute favourite and you can find them on my every project. So today in this post I am going to share my secret list of plugins that are absolutely important and will help you from installing a lot of plugins. So let’s begin.
5 Essential And Free Plugin That You Should Have On Your WordPress Blog.
1. DoLogin Security:-
One thing I hate about WordPress is its security. Being the most popular CMS in the World, WordPress is always the target of hackers and cybercriminals. That’s why DoLogin Security is the first plugin I install on every WordPress site I work on. The completely free and comes with some amazing feature that you can’t believe that you are getting for free. The plugin by default limits the login attempts. It locked out a user who attempts to log in to your site with the wrong credential after a few attempts. That helps you protect your site from a possible Bruteforce attack.
Not just that but it also comes with lots of other amazing feature that you can enable. Such as
- Free text SMS message passcode for 2nd step verification support.
- Google reCAPTCHA.
- GeoLocation (Continent/Country/City) or IP range to limit login attempts.
- Passwordless login link.
- Support Whitelist and Blacklist.
- GDPR compliant. With this feature turned on, all logged IPs get obfuscated (md5-hashed).
- WooCommerce Login supported.
- XMLRPC gateway protection.
Now, don’t you think that this plugin is amazing? Let me know what you think in the comment section.
Jetpack is an amazing plugin from Automatic. If you don’t know Automatic is the same company that runs WordPress.com and Woocommerce. They are also the creator of WordPress.org. Yes, the WordPress you are using is from Automatic.
Maybe lots of you already using this plugin and already knows about it very well. It comes pre-installed in most WordPress installations. It is the most feature-packed plugin available for WordPress. All though you may have to pay for some features, most of the features you need are free.
Let’s see what does it have to offer for free
- Detailed site stats in your WordPress dashboard( I find them more accurate than google analytics)
- Brute force attack protection
- Free CDN. Serves you images and java scripts from their global network. Which increase your site speed and decrease your server load.
- Notifies you whenever your website goes down.
- Automatically post to your social media whenever you post a new blog.
- Keep track of all your activity

Not only that it will also add social media share icons to your posts, allow your user to subscribe to your blog, add lazy load to your image, offer amazing free themes and amazing widgets that you can use on your website.
3. Rank Math:-
The best SEO plugin is available for WordPress. If you are still using the Yoast plugin then I will suggest you move to Rank Math. It is very easy to move from Yoast to Rank Math. It preserves all your data and improves it.
Just installing this plugin can improve your organic traffic significantly.
Very similar to Yoast it also has a premium pack. Forget about the premium, the feature it provides with the free version is more than enough and of course better than Yoast.
So let’s see what it have to offer in the free pack
- Target up to 5 keywords in each post- Yoast offer 1
- Set SEO title And Meta description
- Separate title, meta description, and feature image for social media
- Automatically add missing meta description to images.
- Generate XML Site map
- Add Site-Wide Schema Markup also allows to do it separately for each post
- WooCommerce SEO
- Link Counter
- Redirection Manager
- Direct Google Search console and analytics integration
- And much more
Rank Math has an impressive 4.9 rating on WordPress Directory. It is very easy to use and loaded with tons of plugins. with this plugin you don’t need a separate plugin for google analytics, 404-page checker or redirection, Role Manager, XML site map, etc. one plugin instead of four or five I think that is impressive.
4. WP Fastest Cache:-
Whenever any user visits your website the browser pulls the whole website from your server. It is okay if a viewer is visiting your website just for once.
But you don’t want that right? You want them to visit again and again. And that when cache comes into play. When a visitor visits your website the browser saves some component of your website locally on the visitor’s system. Next time when they visit your website browser doesn’t pull the whole website. Instead, it uses the cache for some. Making your website faster. The cache also helps to decrease the load on your server.
There are a lot of cache plugins available for free and paid. But I Mostly use WP Fastest Cache. Why?
Because it’s free, simple, and easy to setup. I agree that W3 Total Cache is more advance and can do better but if you don’t know what you are doing then you may end up breaking your website. That’s why I love WP Fastest Cache. it is very simple to manage. Within 5 minutes your site will be optimized and ready to go.
so let’s see that it is offering
- Generate static file from your dynamic website
- Enable Gzip compression which reduces the file send from your server
- Enable browser cacheing
- Integration of CDN support all major CDN provider including Jetpacks Photon and Cloudflare.
- Disable Emojis
Unlike other plugins, the interface is very simple, and in a few steps, you are done.
Push notification is the new marketing norm. Day by day it is becoming more popular than email marketing and other traditional forms of marketing.
Push Notification is easy to manage and get higher clicks and conversion than emails. Also, they are cheaper and faster in comparison to emails.
Published a new post? With just a click of a button, you can notify all your subscribers instantly.
Also, email marketing does not work with any types of blogs and websites whereas push notifications work for all.
if your visitors all your post then they will surely love to hear from hence there is a greater chance that they will subscribe to your push notification
There are a lot of free and paid services available that provide push notifications for WordPress. But OneSignal is the best among them.
